Every concession funds two things together: your showcase, and the promise that it will still be here in fifty years.
The custody fund
The real cost of a showcase is not disk space but the promise of still being there in fifty years. That is why one euro in three of every concession (35%) goes into a separate, ring-fenced custody fund: it is never used for day-to-day running of the site, only to guarantee its conservation over time.
It is the same logic as a cemetery's maintenance fees, made explicit: you always know how much of what you pay is meant to last, not to fund a passing service.
How to support Atrahasis
